Light Weight
"Atika" GRP pipe have high strength ratio. In comparison with other material, it is light in weight by 1/10th of P.S.C., 1/5th of Steel and 1/8th of C.I. Thus "Atika" GRP pipes provide easy and quick installation, handling, modification and repairs.
Corrosion Resistance
"Atika" GRP pipe is made from composite material of glassfibre and polyester resin. Thus, GRP is an inert material providing excellent resistance to corrosion, exceptional chemical resistance and high weathering resistance.
Longer Service Life
Hydraulic Design Basis (HBD) of "Atika" GRP pipe is such that, even after continuous service of 50 years, it will be having safety factor of 1.8 times of its pressure class. Thus, "Atika" GRP pipe have longer service life, reliability and durability with much lower life cycle cost compare to C.I., Steel, G.I. and P.S.C. pipes.
Hydraulic Efficiency
"Atika" GRP pipe with very smooth internal surface and constant outside diameter provides high "C" value to carry high flow at the same frictional head loss. This gives better translucency offering savings in energy and pumping cost.
High Resistance to Surge Pressure
"Atika" GRP pipe provide higher resistance to surge pressure with high stiffness offering very less chance of bursting of pipe due to water hammer compare to Steel and C.I. pipes.
Non-toxicity
The manufacturing technology together with the process of post polymerisation and vaporisation enables "Atika" GRP pipes to be made in exact conformity to the laws in force, governing the construction of pipe that will have to be in contact with potable water and food stuffs.
Low Thermal and Electrical Conductivity
"Atika" GRP pipes have excellent thermal insulation properties and there is no need fot the pipe to be insulated externally so as to maintain the temperature inside the pipe.
